Role Summary/Purpose

Serve as the first point of contact for people leaders and employees to provide counsel, coaching and support on HR fundamentals and employee related questions. Responsible for compliance, training and execution of the collective bargaining agreement and for key HR initiatives specifically related to this unionized site. Provide responsive employee support, and drive process improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

* Provide dedicated guidance to multiple senior leaders and employees within the context of union relations


* Provide dedicated coaching to multiple managers and employees with specific focus on:
* Employee Advocacy / Engagement


* HR Fundamentals


* Process Training


* Employee Relations Management


* Performance Management


* and Workplace Investigations


* Collaborate with HR business partners and O&TD professionals to execute business-specific HR strategies such as staffing and policy development


* Ensure that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated and resolved with integrity and fairness


* Provide advice and counsel to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices to promote an ethical and compliant work environment


* Lead key initiatives to prepare for labor contract negotiations and serve as Company HR representative


* Execute role responsibilities as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement (i.e. grievance process, etc.)


* Conduct HR training and support for key functional processes


* Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny and judgment


* Conduct investigations including fact gathering, preserving, documenting, analyzing and reporting of all available information and evidence, and in some circumstances, making recommendations to the business on disciplinary actions


* Lead other site-wide HR projects as necessary, working across multiple client groups


* Serve as the subject matter expert for Human Resources / Employee Relations including managing complex cases and partnering with necessary resources (legal, labor, payroll, EH&S, Staffing, Benefits, etc.)


* Assist with other HR special projects or initiatives as needed



Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or related field from an accredited university or college


* Minimum of 2 years prior union / labor relations experience
* Minimum of 5 years prior professional work experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or related field (can include internships)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:

* This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
