We are the Tactical Radio Program and Products (TRPP) organization within General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) and that is what we do! We design and build state of the art secure, real-time, software defined radios to protect our warfighters and our nation! We are looking for qualified development personnel to realize this vision! To meet these and other challenges, TRPP is seeking an Entry-Level C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ location. This is a great opportunity to utilize and grow the software engineering concepts you developed while obtaining your Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. We design and build state of the art secure, real-time, software defined radios to protect our warfighters and our nation! You'll get to work side by side with new and experienced teammates on the next generation of military radios for army soldiers, advanced radios for the Navy's newest ships and submarines, the Next Generation Survival Radio (NGSR) and/or the Blue Force Tracker (BFT) 2.5 program. Throughout the life of these programs, you will have a multitude of opportunities to work closely with System, Hardware, and Firmware engineers to deliver the implemented design to the System Test team and ultimately our customer and our warfighters.

We are seeking candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills that seek to put their love of solving problems to work in a team environment. As part of the team, you'll have a role throughout the software development process which includes:
Requirements analysis Design, development and test Internal reviews with your peers The Entry Level C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer will participate on a 6-8 person team. Our software definable radios provide a modernized suite of Line of Sight (LOS) and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems. These radio systems use similar technology to the cellular industry, but with a more robust and capable platform to support in theater operations.
You will also deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs, support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems' culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures. You'll be shown how to follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems' services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or the equivalent experience is required. Programming experience using C, C++, and/or Java is required. Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within 24 months of hire is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of the work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications (Preferred):

Additional consideration is given for candidates with class emphasis or work experience in one or more of the following areas: Real-Time Systems/Operating Systems Signal Processing and/or Digital Communications Multiprocessor/multicore or distributed processing experience Embedded software experience using Linux or VxWorks Low level programming of device drivers in Unix, Linux environment Web interface/HTML 5
