Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field, or equivalent experience is required.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required in a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Entry Level Auxiliary Systems Electrical Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:Participates in electrical requirements analysis, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.), design, integration and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems Applies principles and techniques of Electrical EngineeringPerforms electrical engineering root cause analysis for electrical issues, conducts experimental tests, evaluates results to formulate and implement solutions to issuesParticipates in internal electrical reviews of electrical components, equipment and systemsEvaluates vendor capability to support product developmentApplies a basic understanding of the organizationally defined electrical processes used throughout the lifecycle of the program or projectSupports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycleParticipates in the selection of components and equipment based on analysis of requirementsGenerally works within an identified work groupGenerally has some contact with project leaders Generally works on problems of limited scope under frequent detailed supervision KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Working knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories Working knowledge of electrical engineering processesUse of electrical engineering CAD toolsWorking knowledge in Microsoft Office applicationsWorking knowledge in electrical engineering design toolsGood written and verbal communications skillsCreative thinkerAbility to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electrical engineering designAbility to work well in a team environmentTravel may be requiredSecurity clearance may be required
