To meet these and other challenges, TRPP has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Digital Signal Processing (DSP) C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This is an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems engineers work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow our nation to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work as an integral part of a collaborative team to ensure GDMS and client technologies are performing as efficiently as possible. The Entry Level DSP C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer will participate on a 6-8 person software development team, performing the software development and maintenance for our software defined radio communications programs. These programs provide a modernized suite of Line of Sight (LOS) and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems to enable the war-fighter of today. These systems use similar technology to the cellular industry, but with a more robust and capable platform to support in theater operations.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation of waveforms for software defined radios, Provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity Perform analysis for all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments

Basic Qualifications:

The DSP C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer requires a Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science a related technical field or the equivalent experience.

The qualified candidate would benefit from any combination of the following:
Pratical knowledge of digital communication theory Advanced knowledge and practical experience with implementing Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms on digital signal processors or multi-core CPUs Practical knowledge and practical experience with hard real time software design techniques, real time operating systems, multi-threaded designs, preemptive task scheduling Experience with Matlab or Simulink Knowledge and experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) hardware peripherals Familiarity with software development tools and development environments (integrated development environment - compilers/interpreters, simulators, emulators, code and test generators) Experience in one or more of the following areas: Digital Signal Processing, - Universal Serial Bus (USB) Debugging, - Embedded SW development Ability to research and analyze data and requirements to determine best solution for new or updated design Ability to think creatively and multi-task Some travel may be required Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within 24 months of hire is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of the work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required.
