Job Summary:

Generac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry! Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our Marketing team.

The Graphic Design Intern will be fully embedded into the Marketing team. In this role, you'll learn to develop effective ways to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, and various print and layout techniques; collaborate with the internal team, ad agencies, writers and web content specialists to blend content with graphic design for maximum impact and to build brand equity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Work closely with the Graphic Design team to create layouts for communications materials.
* Produce layout and design for marketing needs, across all media, including work on branding initiatives, logos, seasonal marketing campaigns and the development of complete national programs.
* Projects include print ads, sales materials, direct mail, promotional flyers, displays and signage and other published materials.
* Assist in designing communications to support internal company needs in all other departments requiring design expertise.
* Assist in designing materials for Web-based advertising and marketing campaigns.
* Follow established work flow and processes.
* Assist with the development and maintenance of file management systems for all photography and existing projects both in work and completed.
* Work within established templates and brand look.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical demands:


* Currently enrolled in a undergraduate or graduate program in Graphic Design or a related discipline.
* An available portfolio that demonstrates wide-ranging concept exploration, innovative solutions, a clear process and is visually appealing.
* Able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during breaks.


* A passion for graphic design, and an interest in developing your skills in a learning environment.
* Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud
* Great skills in communication and creativity - problem solving skills are important, as work is both team-based and individual, depending on the specific project
* Production design experience
* Experience designing for a manufactured product
* Experience designing for the web (no coding skills required)
* Ability to multitask multiple projects and tight deadlines
* Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
