Job Summary:

Generac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Community Relations Program Intern.

The Community Relations Program Intern will provide assistance to the Community Relations Program Manager in various projects and daily activities, including preparation for fun day events and Generac Gives activities. Assist with handling donation requests. Assist with gathering content for potential use on social media showcasing Generac's employment brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Support Generac Gives Program and Events
* Execute fun day events
* Draft social media posts for various platforms
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical demands:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public relations, Nonprofit management, Social Work or related field;
* Ability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours during school year and full-time during school breaks

Additional Qualifications:

* Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to listen effectively and work well with others;
* Detail oriented;
* Event planning experience;
* Enjoys working with people; has a passion for giving back to the community;
* Self-motivated; Ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and in multidisciplinary groups;
* Ability to accept feedback, respond to changing priorities and support a fast-paced business;
* Flexible and proactive in taking on responsibilities with a willingness to learn;

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
