Overview

Generac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry! Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI, is seeking a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst I to join our expanding Remote Monitoring team.

The Software QA Analyst I is responsible for developing automated tests for iPhone, Android, and supporting applications that will enable IoT devices. This role is also responsible for developing both manual and automated test cases to support the application architecture by developing coded tests and software code modifications as needed to complete testing requirements. This role will partner with the development team and be responsible for delivering test cases and test results contained within the sprint, drive. This role will participate in continuous integration/build and automated testing that aligns with agile development best practices.

Responsibilities

* Partner with the QA team and development teams to understand software specifications and develop appropriate tests. Test execution of code in various environments under varying conditions.
* Prepare reports to highlight variance of planned results as compared to actual results. Track key software failures and anomalies and report accordingly to the team.
* Generate historical analysis of test results.
* Operate and maintain test environments.
* Provide application instructions for users.
* Create meaningful error handling procedures for application code.
* Create queries, scripts, web pages and other test artifacts.
* Ensure data integrity standards.
* Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and system goals and identify and resolve systems issues.
* Ensure compatibility and interoperability of the product API with external API consumers.
* Develop coded tests and software code modifications as needed to complete testing requirements.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* 3+ months experience in software development role (internship, co-op, or contract experience)
* Testing - HTML5, MQTT, Message Queues, Web Services, Android and iOS devices
* Familiarity with Selenium, MS Test, Visual Studio, C#, JavaScript, Postman or equivalent automated testing tools
* Experience with setup, configuration, and support of test environments
* High volume transaction systems
* Load and performance testing
* Knowledge of Mobile and Web Security best practices
* Experience working cross-functionally and with a global team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
