Geller Advisors, Accounting Specialist

You will take ownership of:

* Supervising 2-4 bookkeepers / interns
* Direct responsibility for cash management process and accounting for high net worth clients including but not limited to:
* Reviewing of accounts payable and credit card processing for multiple entities (personal, corporate, foundation) input, g/l coding, check and wire preparation, vendor correspondence and follow up
* Reviewing of cash receipts processing including review and preparation of deposits
* Reviewing of loan tracking transactions, resulting journal entries and payments
* Reviewing of payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, expense reimbursements, benefits, and payroll tax administration
* Providing HR support for clients with domestic/business staff including but not limited to onboarding new employees, monitoring receipt of timesheets and tracking PTO
* Coordinating with payroll service and employee benefits provider, including but not limited to setting up new payroll and adding or removing employees
* Reviewing month end activities including bank and fixed asset reconciliations, assist with monthly investment journal entries, intercompany elimination entries and other month end closing entries


* Monitoring cash needs on a daily basis and fund entities as required
* Assisting in preparation and review of monthly/quarterly financial statements and all supporting schedules (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and other schedules)
* Interacting daily with multiple clients, financial institutions and vendors
* Responding quickly and accurately to internal and external requests
* Researching and completing various client projects on a timely basis
* Researching and resolving issues through internal and external communications
* Proactively managing ad-hoc client requests
* Maintaining General Ledger including vendor and fixed asset maintenance and prepare journal entries as required
* Assisting in gathering of tax related information for tax preparation

We expect you to have:

* Experience working with a variety of clients and experience with high net worth individuals is preferred
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 4-7 years accounting experience
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
* Must have the flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously, possess the ability to prioritize duties, and complete tasks in an accurate/efficient manner
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong organizational and analytical skills
* Ability to follow through with client requests and projects
* Ability to work in a team-oriented and client-focused environment
* Ability and desire to take on more responsibilities and help other team members
* Self-starter

We'd love to see:

* Experience in MS Dynamics and/or NetSuite
* Experience with income tax, investments and/or insurance
* CPA preferred
* Experience dealing with complex needs of clients with multiple homes, household and property management needs
