Job Description

Job Summary

Currently looking for a Construction Closeout Specialist to fill an opening with a company located in Streetsboro, OH. Interested candidates should have knowledge of commercial construction systems including plumbing, HVAC, sprinkler and electrical.

Responsibilities of the Construction Closeout Specialist:

  • Ability to phase the closeout process of a project over a period of time rather than being a single event.
  • Coordinating, attending and documenting (videos, notes, pictures) all training activities
  • Coordinating and posting a link to a close out web page for each client that has video of our internally produced, or vendor supplied, quick links to refreshers.
  • Coordinating the complete close out package of ALL systems, OM's, warranties, affidavits.
  • Delivering and walking the client through the documentation
  • Coordinating and making sure that clients have received maintenance quotes for all HVAC, roofing, PEMB systems
  • Regular call backs (bi monthly for 3 months) to check on customer training/ease of use, system operation follow up.
  • Being the clearing house for all warranty income calls, then coordinating all follow up service calls, tracking completion, sorting out warranty costs, contractor responsible with collaboration with the PM and super as needed.
  • Creating and maintaining the library of training aids.
  • Convene a lesson learned session to promote the success of future projects.
  • Confirming the project has addressed the terms and conditions of the contracts
  • Confirming completion of exit criteria for contract closure
  • Formally closing out contracts associated with the completed project.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent related field experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the construction industry.

Preferred:

  • Experience with commercial construction closeout process and Owner's Manual
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.

Critical Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented.
  • Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Revu Bluebeam and Camtasia
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience

Work Conditions:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time is common
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers is needed to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices
  • Physical ability to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings is required
