Posted Position Title Asheville Machinist - Skilled Career Level Entry-Level Function Manufacturing Function Segment Shop Operations Location(s) Where Opening Is Available United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces North Carolina City Asheville Postal Code 28803-1729 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose The Asheville Machinist - Skilled role involves the Manufacturing of complex rotating jet engine components, working with exotic aerospace alloys on some of the latest CNC machine tools in a clean, air conditioned facility. Following successful completion of the post-employment on-boarding training, individuals will participate on teams to identify and implement process improvement opportunities resulting in improved quality and product flow. Essential Responsibilities In addition, you will:

Read and understand process operation sheets, tooling sheets, tech plans and associated documents

Work from blue prints and work instructions to produce parts

Have the ability to correctly gauge parts and record dimensions (understand IRDs)

Change and reset tooling

Successfully complete applicable special processes and operator certification requirements

Use measuring equipment, such as micrometers, caliper and gauges

Understand Part Process Flow (incoming / outgoing)

Perform preventive maintenance checks

Be an active contributing member of a high performance, self-directed work team with minimum supervision

Perform tasks that require manual dexterity

Complete all required compliance training

An associate's degree or higher in a manufacturing or engineering discipline from an accredited university, college or institution (OR completion of an accredited machinist or toolmaker program, OR a High School Diploma / GED with equivalent training / experience)

Minimum of 1 year of experience with manual or Computer Numerical Controlled machining in an industrial metalworking environment using milling, turning, and grinding processes

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, hats, and safety shoes

Must attend and successfully pass a state sponsored pre-employment training class for consideration

Flexibility to work off shifts
