Position Summary:

L2, a Gartner company, is looking to hire outstanding Specialists to join the APAC research practice. Specialists will lead data collection and analysis efforts to help understand the digital strategy, social media, and e-commerce best practices for global brands and present findings in high-profile Digital IQ research studies, Insight Reports, blog posts, as well as live events.

Responsibilities include:

capturing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data around brands' strategies across Baidu and Tmall Search Engine Optimization, Social Media(Weibo & WeChat), Brand Sites, E-commerce and Digital Marketing. Research Specialists will interface with Sr. Research Specialists, other Research Specialists, and Advisory associates within their team. The Research Specialist position offers extensive exposure to digital marketing trends and topics, as well as a range of iconic consumer brands, across many industries including fashion, luxury, beauty, CPG, and active wear

Data Capture:

Collect and analyze data around digital strategy for brands to be published in high-profile Digital IQ research studies, Insight Reports, Client Deep Dives and other client deliverables

Execute the collection and synthesis of quantitative and qualitative data around brands' efforts across Search Engine Optimization, Social Media, E-commerce, and Digital Marketing

Organize and clean large data sets to generate actionable insights and prepare for further exploration

Ensure data accuracy through comprehensive QA and methodical data capture Data Analysis Create analysis using strong PowerPoint skills to highlight brand performance, digital trends, and construct best in class studies

Leverage strong data analysis skills to turn data into a compelling narrative of the shifts in digital investment and performance

Thought Leadership:

Develop China market, industry, and subject matter expertise to inform research approach

Stay abreast of APAC market trends and identify new data points for collection to further quantify brand performance relative to emerging platforms and consumer behavior

Required skills & experience:

Basic experience in the fields of digital marketing, market research, consumer insights (as an entry level position experience may be in the form of 1-2 years of Professional work experience or in the form of internships, personal, and/or academic experience)

Strong analytical skills (proficient in Excel) and an ability to distill data to actionable insights in a coherent narrative

Strong knowledge of current China consumer and digital trends; use of local digital platforms.

Proficient reading and speaking Mandarin is required -

Japanese or Korean language skills are not required but a plus

Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills (including PowerPoint) with extreme attention to detail

Proficiency in written and verbal communication -the ability to participate in meaningful conversations with researchers and peers in order to make difficult scoring and data collections decisions. Given the core team is remote and in a different time zone, clear and concise communication crucial to ensure data consistency and that work continues to progress.

Highly disciplined with self-starter and ownership mentality; experience in startups and small organizations a plus. Accountability for deadlines and assigned tasks.

Strong academic background: Bachelor's from a top-tier university, with a major/concentration in economics, finance, marketing, business, or humanities; 3.5 GPA minimum

Ability to thrive and grow in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment
