Gannett Fleming is looking for an Assistant State Traffic Management (STMC) Project Manager to join our project team in Harrisburg. The Assistant Project Manager will function as a technical leader, overseeing the the analysis of transportation conditions, real time and historic data within the Statewide Traffic Management Center. In addition to supervising the daily operations of the STMC, the Assistant Project Manager will function as STMC Lead Supervisor, directing STMC Supervisors and Operators responsible for monitoring traffic conditions and events and coordinate information on a regional and statewide basis.


* A Bachelors' degree in a related field of Civil Engineering, with a concenstration in trasnportation from an accredited four-year college or university.
* This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of ITS supervisory/management experience in a facility/environment similar* to the Pennsylvania DOT Traffic Management Center
* Supervisory and management experience in non-related fields may be considered in lieu of some related experience at a ratio to be determined by the hiring authority.
* Demonstrated knowledge of general ITS and traffic operations principles, including incident management.
* Prior management experience with the ability to lead and motivate staff and cultivate relationships
* Hands on experience leading the recruiting and selection process
* Available to work alternate work schedules as needed and be on-call 24 hours/day.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage at different levels in the organization effectively. Proficiency in Windows operating system and program applications.
* Demonstrated ability to write/correct technical reports, manuals and correspondence.
* Adept at setting priorities and coordinating activities in real time. Prior experience in quality management.
* Knowledge of research methods and techniques used in gathering, organizing, and analyzing data.
