Consumer consumption and the marketing landscape is ever changing! As a Consumer Marketing & Sales Manager you will help shape and lead our new sales initiatives across digital and home delivery. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and driven innovator that loves to collaborate with cross functional teams to develop custom marketing strategies to help us acquire new audiences.

The Consumer Marketing & Sales Manager is responsible for planning, executing and monitoring subscription sales and engagement strategies to grow audience and to exceed revenue goals across multiple mid-sized markets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning sales and marketing strategies for multiple news sites management of the day-to-day coordination and execution of sales programs through digital marketing, social media, onsite advertising, mobile transactions, search engine marketing, email and more.

This position is responsible for the Wilmington, DE and York, PA market areas. It reports to the Group Marketing and Sales Manager and will be located in Wilmington, DE

We need you to:

* Effectively execute the sales and retention plans to grow subscription-based revenue across multiple platforms.
* Ensure that the marketing plan includes effective activities along each stage of the customer funnel, including awareness driving, engagement, new customer acquisition, lead generation, conversion, and loyalty/advocacy for each audience group.
* Proactively drive regionally based marketing programs from planning, execution, to tracking results, using knowledge of regional needs, ensure alignment with segment marketing objectives, define programs and success measurement.
* Collaborate on and monitor integrated direct response campaigns using a variety of digital resources and tools, print ads, direct mail, email, inserts, as well as other internal and external available resources.
* Identify and leverage social and content marketing opportunities to achieve our goals
* Keep current on the latest digital/paid search trends and opportunities to incorporate into ongoing campaign management.
* Expand and develop relationships with vendors, internal customers, external customers and area businesses.
* Interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, news, brand and digital.
* Establish impactful relationships with cross-functional teams including newsroom leadership, and digital to develop new audience growth strategy.
* Handle special projects as assigned by the Group Home Delivery Sales Manager.

Here is what you need:

* College degree with specialization in marketing and/or communications preferred or equivalent years of experience within field may be considered in lieu of a degree
* Understanding of social media and digital marketing best practices. Desire to stay abreast of digital marketing activities of other organizations and develop actionable insights.
* Ability to effectively design and write copy for campaigns.
* Ability to think critically, troubleshoot and solve problems independently
* Strong project management and problem-solving skills
* Excellent rapport and relationship building skills
* Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* An effective communicator with a can-do attitude and a strong desire to get things done
* A strong work ethic, flexibility and a passion to win will be critical characteristics.
