Gallagher Bassett offers students an opportunity to participate in a Summer Internship focused in Legal Research. The program is designed to help students gain practical skills and knowledge, experience in a corporate environment and contribute to Gallagher Bassett's legal function while assessing future career interests. During the internship, the legal intern will assist with projects that support business needs and initiatives. Job Responsibilities: * Work alongside Gallagher Professionals to contribute to team and departmental projects * Assist in organizational initiatives to learn critical corporate skills and knowledge * Participate in team projects and skill development opportunities * Participate in community service events * Perform legal research and legal memo writing Required: * Law students pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree entering their third year from an Accredited Law School or University. * Advanced proficiency in performing legal research, legal memorandum writing, legal analysis, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and strong analytical and problem-solving skill set. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong flexibility and adaptability skills * Ability to work in an office environment and take direction and complete legal research and related legal projects from a team of in-house corporate attorneys in the commercial insurance space U.S. Eligibility Requirements: * Interested candidates must submit an application and resume/CV online to be considered * Must be 18 years of age * Must be willing to submit to a background investigation; any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation * Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
