Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Technical Support Services Representative provides quick responses to all product related inquiries internally and externally. This position will be responsible for gathering marketing, technical and code information to help support and build sales thorough technical responses. Upon validation of information and roofing standards this position will also provide support by writing confirmation letters. The Technical Services Representative has a significant impact on the day to day operations of the 411 department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

(40-60%) - Answers incoming technical calls for all GAF business divisions and product lines, Supports internal functions with technical knowledge and basic information when required.

(20-25%) - Locates, reviews, and interprets product information through various sources including but not limited to GAF published literature, code agencies i.e. Underwriters Laboratories, Factory Mutual, and Miami DADE in order to provide correct responses to support issues. Provides written communication in response to technical questions via email or hard copy

(5) - Performs other duties as assigned.

Technical knowledge/skills (entry, intermediate, advanced)

* Entry level knowledge of code/compliance area ( ASTM, UL)

* Proficient with all Microsoft Office and Google Suite products Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint and CRM
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
* Intermediate verbal and written communication skills, including basic employment of basic phone sale/service skills including but not probing question
* Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
* Ability to keep accurate records and documentation
* Is trained in the art of probing questions and effective call handling
* Ability to grasp and retain technical concepts and associations

Education/Experience

Minimum Requirements

* High School Degree or GED equivalent
* At least 2 years of relevant work experience (Sales, Customer Services)

Preferred Requirements

* Associates Degree in a business or construction related field
* At least 3 years of relevant work experience (Roofing sales, or technical sales/ service position)
* Bilingual Spanish
