Job Description

Summary: Provides administrative support to the clinic contributing to the efficient operation and prompt service of clients.

  1. Performs patient check in, registration and check out function at the front desk
  2. Verifying insurance benefits and access Medicaid/Medifax database to determine whether clients have active Medicaid if presents without proof insurance.
  3. Assist patient with submitting benefit application or making necessary referral to apply for benefits if Medicaid has lapsed.
  4. Patient scheduling in EMR.
  5. Monitor the schedule daily for missed appointments and send appropriate communications to staff.
  6. Verifying patient demographics in EMR and updating as new information becomes available.
  7. Work closely with Integrated Care team when onsite to insure that both EMR's accurately reflect appointment times and services.
  8. Monitors flow of appointments in clinic and notifies clinic manager or appropriate staff if someone has been waiting too long.
  9. Monitor schedule
  10. Assists in maintaining department supplies and equipment.
  11. Ensures confidentiality of clinical information in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
  12. Other administrative support and projects as needed

Qualifications: High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years paid work experience in a medical group practice setting. EMR and insurance filing experience.
