Firefighters

THE CITY OF FREEPORT IS NOW HIRING FIREFIGHTERS!!

• Candidates must be 21 to under 35 years of age, unless exempt by state statute
• U.S. Citizen
• Valid Driver’s License
• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Valid C-Pat required at time of oral interview

Entry Level Firefighters: $51,812.80  

Entry Level Paramedics:  $55,450.72

A mandatory orientation and written exam are required – you will be notified once your application has been accepted. 

Once a candidate is notified of an opening and has successfully completed all tests and examinations they may be required to attend a Firefighter Basic Training Academy. 

Application period is open until July 6, 2024.  Applications should be returned to Central Fire Station by July 15, 2024 at 1 p.m.
