Job Description

Position Overview

Freddie Mac's Investments & Capital Markets Division is currently seeking a Portfolio Analytics and Strategy Professional who will primarily be involved in developing and maintaining the processes and tools required for the portfolio analytics and strategy work to support trading and portfolio risk management activities across the investment, funding and ALM/hedging desks.

Responsibilities include:

* Assist in improving and maintaining Web-portal tools and reports used by trading desks
* Support analytical work requested by the trading area
* Gather data or information from various databases and sources to produce aggregated analytical as well as management reports
* Interact with the trading desks, modeling, and finance area for the development of investment, funding, and risk management strategies
* Provide and maintain informative and reliable documentations that meet corporate policies and standards for various business processes executed by the group

Qualifications

* Undergraduate or higher degree in quantitative discipline such as Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science
* 1-2 years of relevant work experience
* Understand various products in the fixed-income markets specifically in the MBS and the interest-rate derivative markets
* Experience with tools for code development, Matlab, and R
* Proficient with the usage of VBA in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel and Access)
* Experience working with Linux/Unix/Windows systems for building business applications

Preferred Skills

* Experience working with Web (e.g. JavaScript) development tools, Python or other scripting languages
* Experience working with large internal (CDW, Atlas) and external (EMBS, Core Logic) databases
* Experience working with model-based applications such as Work Bench, Aladdin/AnSer and Yield Book
* Experience working with Bloomberg API and terminal for conducting fixed-income product or portfolio analysis
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
