About Our Team:

The Marketing team is a cross functional hub for Foundation Medicine's suite of products for physician customers and biopharma partners, comprising marketing promotions, product management and companion diagnostic marketing. Our team works with a mix of external and internal stakeholders, from product development to operations to oncologists, delivering a best in class portfolio of comprehensive genomic profiling tests to inform treatment plans and ensure patients have access to the promise of personalized medicine.

Position Overview:

An ideal candidate for this internship is a strategist, familiar with healthcare marketing as well as comfortable with data and statistical analysis. We are looking for an intellectually curious, collaborative, self-starter that can undertake tasks and projects with minimal supervision. A main goal of this internship is to assess a specific market opportunity and conduct a situational analysis in preparation for a commercial launch. This work will require collaboration with marketing team members and other groups within Foundation Medicine to develop and product the content that will be the final deliverable for this internship.

Specifically, this person will:

* Work with the product Lifecycle Leaders to identify goals and develop a project plan.
* Develop hypotheses to test.
* Build a market research plan, conduct primary research and collect secondary research.
* Synthesize market research to identify key trends and challenges in the marketplace.
* Develop content that represents research findings in a succinct, easy to understand format.
* Seek feedback from internal and external stakeholders to validate findings or suggest changes.
* Assess findings and confirm hypotheses.
* Make recommendations within the context of the Foundation Medicine commercial and corporate strategy.
* Review recommendations with Lifecycle Leaders.
* Present findings and recommendations to the Commercial Leadership Team.

Relevant Background:

* Undergraduate degree in biological sciences or biomedical engineering or a bachelor's degree with subsequent healthcare experience.
* Currently in an MBA program.
* Familiarity with market research or statistical analysis.

Nice To Have:

* Experience in the biopharmaceutical, medical device or diagnostics industry.
* Previous marketing experience.
