Job Description

Forkardt Inc. and Partent Company Hardinge Workholding, have a current opening for a DESIGN ENGINEER.

The combined company is a leading supplier of workholding products for machine tools worldwide and is experiencing expanded product lines and increased sales growth.

The successful candidate will be an experienced high level design engineer who will work in the area of New Product Development, Focusing on creating new workholding designs and performing engineering validation on products.

The assignments will be widely varied on the types of workholding they encompass. Assignments will also include testing and evaluation of designs once product is manufactured, this will include work with test and inspection equipment and creation of fixtures and equipment to perform validation tests.

The ideal candidate will possess the skills to create designs of components and complex assemblies in SolidWorks 3-D software, and utilize the full suite of tools within the software such as Finite Element Analysis and animation to evaluate designs for proper function, strength, repeatability and Factor of Safety.

This position requires knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes, such as turning, milling, grinding, and heat treatment.

Some travel will be required.

Minimum Position Requirements:

BS degree or above in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Manufacturing Technology.

Five years of design experience in 3-D CAD modelling (SolidWorks preferred), along with experience with FEA and design analysis.

Salary will be commensurate with capabilities and experience level.
