Job Description & Qualifications

In association with the Ford Motor Company's Connected Vehicle System, we're seeking energetic and inquisitive students to join us in the development of new features in embedded vehicle software. The successful candidate will perform software coding, testing and debugging as well as other general duties. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work in an innovative software team that is focused on delivering connected solutions for Ford's global products and our customers.

Responsibilities

* Contribute as a member of a cross-functional agile development team
* Assist with implementing new features in embedded vehicle applications
* Perform debugging, testing and software maintenance for existing applications
* Develop and execute tests including defect reporting
* Provide documentation to provide instructions or describe software systems
* Assist with other general task

Basic Qualifications

* Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
* 3+ months experience in software development (coursework allowed)
* 3+ months experience in developing software using object-oriented methodologies and the C/C++ or Java programming language (coursework allowed)

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience using source code control and defect tools such as Git, Github, Gerrit, Jira, or Jenkins
* Experience debugging software applications using debugging tools such as Eclipse, Momentics, Android Studio, or Visual Studio
* Have knowledge on Software Life Cycle, and agile practices such as Kanban or Scrum
* The candidate should be self-motivated and excited to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional team environment
* The candidate should be passionate about enterprise level software development on embedded systems
* The candidate should be interested in new technologies and able to adapt and learn new concepts quickly
* The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
