Job Description


The Quality Supervisor assures the quality of outgoing finished product and supervises the Dispersions Quality Control department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.

Outgoing Finished Product

  • Responsible for the finished product testing/approval process.
  • Develops finished product test protocols.
  • Manages the site product hold area.
  • Responsible for reworking both internal defective and customer returned material.
  • Manages the finished product specification control process.
  • Supervises the Quality Control Laboratory Technicians.
  • Investigation and resolution of non-conforming finished product issues in concert with Plant Management and Quality.
  • Participates in root cause investigations for both internal and external (customer complaints) defective.
  • Performs trend analysis on finished product testing taking action with Plant Management/Supervision when data is statistically out of control.
  • Internal Auditor for the Quality Management System.
  • Backs up the Quality Control Technicians filling in when needed.
  • Develops test criteria and test frequency of finished goods via the Birth Certificate and PC processes.
  • Perform training both within the QC lab and the production facility.
  • Participates in periodic inventories on raw material/finished goods.
  • Works with the QCAS manager to assure that test equipment is operational and calibrated.
  • Participate in both production and technical trials.


To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility in a satisfactory manner through individual effort or effective and appropriate delegation. Additionally, the well-qualified candidate will have the following education and experience.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum Bachelor degree in chemistry, polymer science or other science. Minimum of 3 years experience in a rubber or chemical laboratory environment.
