Job Description

Long term part-time internship. Ideally, the intern would work full-time in the summer and continue part-time (10-20 hours) throughout the school year. This would allow the intern to develop a strong working knowledge of FLIR systems and contribute effectively to the team.

Summary

FLIR UIS is developing software for the FLIR SkyRaider UAS and ground control system. Various tasks in software development and related areas could be performed by an intern, depending on his/her background. This would offload work from higher-level engineers and increase the overall capacity of the team. Potential tasks include:

* Development of unit and integration tests
* Integration of new sensors
* Development of engineering software tools
* Build/deployment automation
* Add features to embedded device firmware
* Developing internal web-based tools
* Evaluating sensor performance and characteristics
* Testing software releases and procedures

Equipment Used:

* Computer
* Embedded devices and device programmers/debug tools
* Electrical test equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope

Desired Qualifications:

* US citizen
* Sophomore or Junior pursuing an engineering degree
* Experience in C or Java
* Git or other distributed version control experience
* Experience in C++, Python, or web development a plus
* Docker/Jenkins experience a plus
* Experience working with embedded devices a plus
