As part of this search, we are seeking a Lead Traffic Engineer to join our thriving transportation practice in Atlanta, Georgia!

Position Description: This position will be an important hire to help grow our Traffic Engineering practice. Position will report to Department Head and serve as project lead for transportation and traffic engineering projects, with the expectation that the candidate will assume a project management role within one year.

The candidate should have experience working in groups and have a desire to participate in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment as the traffic engineering group in our Atlanta office works closely with the planning, environmental, civil engineering and roadway design groups. The candidate should have initiative and a strong desire for learning and sharing knowledge, as he/she will be supervising entry level staff.

The successful candidate will work on transportation and traffic engineering tasks and projects including:

* Intersection and corridor operational analysis
* Signal operations evaluation and recommendations
* Traffic forecasting/projections
* Traffic modeling
* Technical report/traffic study preparation

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

* B.S. in Civil Engineering, Planning or related field from accredited university
* 7+ years of progressive traffic analysis/modeling experience
* Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or AICP certification in Georgia
* Understanding and familiarity with GDOT Traffic Forecasting Standards
* Hands-on experience with traffic engineering and modeling software, including Synchro/SimTraffic and VISSIM
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* Must be able to work in the United States immediately

Preferred Qualifications

* M.S. in Civil Engineering / Transportation Engineering / Planning from accredited university
* Certification as Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
* Experience in traffic signal design
* Knowledge of Advanced Traffic Signal Performance Metrics
* Experience with Traffic Signal Controller software such as Centracs, TACTICS and MaxTime/MaxView
* Knowledge and experience with any of the following software: HCS+, VISSIM, VISUM, Vistro, GuidSign, SignCAD, Arcady, ArcGIS, Sidra, Rodel, Microsoft Access, SQL, Oracle, ITS Architecture Software (SET-IT and ARC-IT).
