Job Description

Accounts Payable Clerk Part Time

Five Rivers Cattle Feeding Corporate Headquarters 4848 Thompson Pky Johnstown CO. Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of invoices, ensuring proper authorizations and coding are present, processing and posting invoices into the accounting system in high volumes. Assist in identifying and preparing invoices for payment. Prepare daily deposit packets and route as appropriate. Communicate with co-workers and management at multiple locations in a professional manner. Work directly with vendors and customers. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, high school degree or GED required. A general knowledge of accounting preferred but not required. Work schedule is estimated 25 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday 9:00 to 3:00 and half day on Friday. No company offered benefits. Background check including drug and alcohol screen is required.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  • Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as accounts payable clerk (or accounts receivable clerk)
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
