Position Description

The BSA/OFAC Risk Analyst is charged with maintaining the integrity of the Bank's BSA/AML/OFAC Compliance Program by ensuring compliance with federal and State regulatory requirements and helping to mitigate regulatory risk. There are four key functions included in the responsibilities of this role; reviewing and clearing exceptions associated with the verification of a customer's identity, monitoring OFAC alerts to ensure that the Bank is not facilitating transactions with an OFAC sanctioned country, entity or individual, review and filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and associated Designation of Exempt Person Reports (DOEPs) and review of monetary instruments sales logs (MISL). Each of these functions require knowledge of regulatory requirements, bank products, systems and processes and adherence to a strict set of timing and filing requirements or specific recordkeeping or analysis documentation standards. In addition, this position represents the first line of defense in mitigating several AML risks that can expose the bank to significant financial penalties and reputational risk.

Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree with a minimum of 4 years banking operational experience in a financial institution, including at least two years in a branch, branch services, regulatory compliance or risk management role.
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years operational experience in a financial institution, including at least two years in a branch, branch services, regualtory compliance or risk management role.

Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of technical e-filing requirements related to CTRs and DOEPs which includes understanding of critical field elements.
Knowledge of several AML applications; large currency reporting, customer identity verification (CIP) and watchlist screening.
Thorough knowledge of bank mainframe system.
Knowledge of banking services and products.
Strong judgment and analytical thinking skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritize and work in an organized fashion with limited supervision.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable and change daily role as assigned by Manager.
Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook, Internet search engines.

Other Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification (e.g., Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist).
Financial crimes experience in a law enforcement setting.
Branch teller experience with a good understanding of FCB's system and experience completing currency transaction reports and selling monetary instruments.
