STATISTICS TECHNICAL REPORTS AND BUSINESS SUPPORT DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

A GOLD Intern within the Technical Reports and Business Support team in the Statistics department at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco will be part of a team whose focus is to provide technical support, troubleshooting and issue resolution for the Statistics and Reserves (STAR) applications, and develop XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) taxonomies that define the data elements of financial reports collected by the Federal Reserve.

POSITION/PROJECT OVERVIEW

Project work will vary based on the current needs of the department as well as the intern's passions and interests. It may range from writing business rules that flag potential errors in data reported by financial institutions, implementing business process improvements to developing automation tools utilizing data querying/analytical software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The intern's responsibilities will be split between coding taxonomies, writing business rules and ad-hoc projects. The intern will ensure quality assurance by helping with testing and performing reviews of requirements. In addition, the intern will work on ad-hoc projects which may include process improvement and the development of analytical or automation tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

* U.S. Citizen or Permanent Residency


* Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing in a 4 year Bachelor degree program


* Overall 3.0 GPA or better


* Ability to work 40 hours week throughout the duration of the 10-12 week internship program.


* We are looking for motivated, proactive, high contributors who possess strong written and verbal communication skills.


* The successful candidate should be able to prioritize key deliverables, possess strong analytical skills, and communicate effectively to management and team members. Experience with the MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel) is required.



PREFERRED SKILLS:

* Working knowledge of data querying or analytical software and/or programming languages (e.g., SQL, MS Access, R, Tableau, Python) is preferred.


* Knowledge or experience within the banking industry, regulatory/SEC reporting, and/or accounting are a plus.
