Job Summary

Position: Facilities Operations Specialist, GS-11/12

Division: Facilities and Logistics Services Division

Unit: Facility Operations Unit

Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Salary: GS-11, $68,036.00 - $88,450.00, GS-12, $81,548.00 - $106,012.00

Full Performance level: GS-12

Number of Positions Available: 1

Duration: Full Time/Permanent

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Major Duties

  • Serves as a technical expert on facilities and building operations, and evaluates proposed repairs, upgrades, maintenance, re-engineering, connectivity capabilities, electronic security, renovations and develops new services and procedures to increase the Space Management HQ Unit Facilities Program effectiveness in each area.
  • Coordinates the administration of space acquisitions, building operations, maintenance, movement/relocation, warehouse operations, supply delivery, and destruction of confidential trash.
  • Analyze and evaluates information obtained to determine whether all elements affecting the final plan of space proposals are accurately represented. Make recommendations to management after careful review and analysis of space specifications.

Specialized Experience (SE):

 

GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience in building and ground maintenance, and security operations in order to coordinate and administer facility operations.
  • Experience analyzing facility and equipment requirements with customer needs, and enhancing current procedures or developing new methods to increase program effectiveness.

GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Experience in building and ground maintenance, and security operations in order to coordinate and administer facility operations.
  • Experience analyzing facility and equipment requirements with customer needs, and enhancing current procedures or developing new methods to increase program effectiveness.
  • Experience with GSA regulations on property and facility management in order to assure the office receives maximum value from existing leases, as well as, thorough knowledge of OSHA guidelines in order to maintain a safe working environment.


Education

All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

GS-11: Applicant must have a Ph.D. OR equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.

  • The FBI is in the Executive Branch of the federal government. It is one of the components of the Department of Justice (DOJ). The FBI is the principle investigative arm of the DOJ. All FBI positions are in the excepted service.
