Job Description

This position requires a professional educator to support the NASA IV&V Educator Resource Center by providing educational activities designed to engage educators and students in NASA missions of research and discovery.

This position is primarily responsible for the development and delivery of programs for WV youth to support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curriculum. This would include classroom and community activities to accomplish the goal. It would also include management of the current NASA IV&V Engineering Apprentice Program (NEAP) high school intern program, Day in the Park, and support of STEM competitions including FIRST® LEGO® League, Team America Rocketry Challenge, Zero Robotics, and Real World Design Challenge.

The position is secondarily responsible for professional development to train educators in the use of NASA educational resources to support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curriculum.
Additional responsibilities include: facilitating virtual student educational opportunities via online tools; tracking required documents; supporting data collection and project evaluation, generating reports; participating on steering committees; and facilitating educator and student workshops in conjunction with activities at NASA centers and field research locations.

This position also provides summer and year-round college internship program supervision.

This position is located at NASA's Independent Verification and Validation facility in Fairmont, WV. Limited travel is required to regional, state and national education conferences, and professional development workshops.
