Job Description

Facebook is hiring a Security Engineering Intern for the Product Security team within Calibra. You will work with a dedicated security team focused on securing the Calibra products, making sure that the blockchain infrastructure and the Calibra products running on it are secured to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will share our passion for engineering solutions to complex security problems while minimizing friction and maximizing productivity. This position will begin in Summer 2020 and is based in Menlo Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Write code and develop systems and tools to improve Calibra and Facebook security



Perform security assessments, working closely with development teams on identifying security issues in their code and finding solutions to provide required functionality securely

Work on sensitive security and fintech-related issues, including securing financial transactions and personal information (Know Your Customer), and exploring cutting edge authentication, authorization, and cryptography protocols

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Enthusiasm for hunting for potential weaknesses and then crafting creative solutions to eliminate them



Understanding of common backend, web application and/or mobile security issues

Communication abilities

Experience with an interpreted (Python, PHP, Perl, Ruby, etc.) or compiled (Rust, C++, Swift, Kotlin, etc.) programming languages

Contributions to the security community are a huge plus (public research, blogging, presentations, bug bounty participation, etc)

Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship/co-op

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* currently pursuing a degree (Bachelors, Masters or PhD) in Computer Science or a related field
