F5 Networks is offering the opportunity to join us on a summer project. At F5, you will work in collaboration with senior engineers who are eager to share knowledge as you contribute to the team.

Position Summary:

This is a non-technical position designed to provide qualified students an opportunity to learn valuable knowledge in a hands-on manner, building out a Customer Experience (CX) research program that dives into our customers' needs, wants, and desires, and uses those insights to provide direction for improvements across the organization.

You'll collaborate with experts from around the organization to undertake a challenging project that will provide the opportunity for you to learn about new technologies, develop or enhance your skills, and make significant contributions to F5. Specifically, you will get a chance to work closely with the growing Customer Experience (CX) team and Customer Engagement group as we gather, analyze, and distribute insights around F5 to help fuel our customer obsession. We will be engaging with customers both digitally and in-person, speaking with them about their needs, wants, and desires so that we can help F5 deliver better products and experiences for our customers.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct customer research studies, including, research design (through surveys, interviews, and observation), execution, data analysis, and reporting.
* Use data to build analysis, metrics, and business cases to support decision-making.
* Understand and define the data requirements for various sources in support of CX initiatives.
* Identify customer trends, issues, and opportunities.
* Identify data quality and process improvement opportunities.

Applicants should be/possess:

* A current student enrolled in a design, data science, user experience, human factors, library sciences, or cognitive psychology program, or relevant experience (both practical and academic) in any of those areas. A wide range of backgrounds and skillsets are needed for CX so there are many starting points to choose from.
* Approaching their Junior year or beyond at the time of the project (exceptional Sophomore or Freshmen may be considered)
* Available for at least a 10-12 week project
* Strong problem solving, reflective practice, and insights on human behavior.

Previous project work in any of the following, a plus:

* Data Analysis
* Data Visualization
* User Experience
* Research Studies
* Ethnographic Research
* Information Architecture
* Cognitive Psychology

Projects are an excellent way to get to know F5.
