Exponent's Vehicle Engineering Practice is currently looking to hire an Electrical/Electronic Engineer at the Associate level in our Phoenix, AZ office. This individual will work effectively within a team of engineers and technicians to solve complex problems through effective communications and through use of a structured problem-solving methodology. This individual will also be required to manage projects to promote client satisfaction. This is a rewarding position for an energetic person who thrives on engineering diversity, problem solving, and interacing with clients.

Qualifications for this position include:

* Ph.D. or M.S. in Electrical, Systems Engineering with a focus on electronic systems integration and power electronics


* Demonstrate a clear understanding of vehicle electrical systems, safety and controls systems


* Direct experience in the design and production of electronic control systems and measurement systems (minimum of graduate-level research)


* Familiar with common manufacturing processes and packaging of electronic circuit boards used in the automotive industry. Knowledge of soldering processes is a plus.


* Ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams


* Consulting experience during education or within a company during an internship


* Must be able to demonstrate the ability to filter through complex problems and/or information in order to conduct a root cause analysis


* Must have the ability to demonstrate engineering curiosity, creativity and apply critical thinking to problem solving


* Strong practical engineering ability combined with leadership and project management skills


* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for working internally with a team of engineers, as well as with outside clients
