Responsibilities

Purpose and Description: Manage a fully compliant and cost-effective U.S. immigration process that anticipates and responds in a timely fashion to the changing business needs. As a global company EXL has a variety of business needs which require the use of multiple types of visa programs. Business needs often require employees from various countries to travel to the US and for US based employees to travel abroad. The position will work closely with EXL leaders and the employees themselves to facilitate the movement of employees to and from the United States. In addition various miscellaneous projects in the Human Resource organization will be assigned depending upon priorities. The position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

* Acts as a Subject Matter Expert and Execute immigration (non-immigrant (visa)/ immigrant (green card)) visa related services: planning and coordinating procedural activities within the scope of the US federal regulations
* Responsible for implementing policies and procedures that are fully compliant to Federal and State regulations
* Meet/consult with Business Leaders to identify needs and develop an effective strategy to address future immigration needs and meet challenges in a timely manner
* Provide strategic advice to Business Partners by identifying/implementing innovative employment visa solutions
* Develop/Implement a set of tools to streamline the administrative processes as it relates to work authorization on a global basis
* Handle all DHS audit requests and requests for evidence in a timely and highly professional manner
* Work as the primary point of contact for US Immigration (counseling with employees, suggesting options, communicating status, coordinating with the attorney and business support, and coordinating follow-up efforts). Keep track of all the expenses related to immigration and appropriate cost allocation to businesses and timely payout of the invoices to the attorney vendor
* Coordinate with global office counterparts in other countries to ensure consistency and tight linkage between geographies
* Ensure quality control of outputs to internal and external customers

Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Requires a Bachelors with 3 years of work experience in Legal or HR. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a similar role
* Should have strong knowledge of US employment-based immigration, identifying potential uses of the available visas to support global business units. Visas including H-1Bs, L-1s, and various Green Card processes (also PERM Labor Certification process)
* Detail oriented with a strong focus on quality control; able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in order to meet deadlines
* Experience with working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Must handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and maturity
* Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication and presentation abilities
* Must exercise sound judgment when reviewing requests for exceptions to policy
* Must use tact when interacting with employees, managers and Human Resources colleagues to understand and resolve potentially sensitive issues
* Proficiency in Microsoft office : Word, Excel at an advanced level, powerpoint
* Ability and willingness to make telephone calls that accommodate different international time zones
* Strong team player
