Job Description

Manager, Capital Planning

Brand: Estée Lauder Companies

Description

Manager - Capital Planning role is responsible for strategically analyzing Estee Lauder's balance sheet, benchmarking its strength and liquidity assets relative to competitors, actively calling out areas of focus, and recommending methods to make improvements.

* Forecast and analyze Estee Lauder's Global balance sheet and cash flow statement; improve the reporting and financial analyses with respect to working capital, foreign exchange, interest income/expense, pension obligations and other treasury related cash flows.


* Analyze the company's financial statements and assist in the preparation of executive and Board of Directors presentations on capital structure.


* Assist with the tactical execution of stockholder distribution strategy via dividends and share repurchases.


* Develop financial models for discounted cash flow and weighted average cost of capital for the company.


* Work with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Operations team to identify and implement working capital improvements.


* Analyze economics of buy vs. lease of capital purchases.


* Build models that will help measure the impact of foreign currency movements on Estee Lauder's financial statements, and develop strategies that mitigate currency related volatility.


* Prepare presentations for rating agency meetings, and analyze analyst reports to understand the rating agencies credit metric methodologies.


* Leverage treasury systems (e.g., SAP, CPM, Reval) to improve the efficiency of collecting and analyzing data, and implement improvements to current processes to maximize productivity.


* Manage special projects as needed.



Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree with a concentration in Finance or Accounting


* Five or more years of work experience that includes some combination of treasury, corporate finance and accounting


* Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis.


* Advanced Excel skills, with experience building complex analytical models.


* Advanced degree with emphasis in Business Administration / Finance, MBA, CPA, CFA, or relevant business experience preferred


* Ability to drive key process improvements and effectively manage priorities and ambiguity.


* Experience as a project manager, leading cross functional teams to implement significant new business initiatives, process reengineering, and/or system conversions.


* Excellent communication skills
