Job Summary:

EY is a global professional services organization and maintains a robust Data Protection and Information Security program designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of confidential and personal information. The Data Protection Intern will be part of the Americas Data Protection Team within the Americas Risk Management Office of Ethics, Compliance, and Data Protection. The Americas Data Protection Team is also part of EY's global Data Protection network of personnel in Risk Management and the General Counsel's Office around the world whose mission it is to enable EY to meet its privacy and confidentiality obligations. The Data Protection Intern will work with various internal functions as well as business teams to further that mission.

The Data Protection Intern demonstrates general knowledge of data protection and privacy laws and regulations (particularly US laws such as the CCPA, as well as laws that have international implications such as the GDPR), associated technologies, emerging trends and developments, and leading practices. The individual has strong research, analysis, and writing skills, and is able to understand and analyze often complex data protection legal requirements, apply them to how EY provides services and manages data, and be able to explain them to non-legal personnel. Additionally, the Data Protection Intern will assist with:

* Incorporating principles and requirements from laws, regulations, and professional standards into EY policy, guidance, and training/awareness materials;

* Performing vendor due diligence activities on third party suppliers EY engages with;

* Performing data inventories;

* Performing Data Protection Impact Assessments on systems and technology; and

* Documenting reported data incidents.

Qualifications, education and certification:

This position offers tremendous learning opportunities and career potential to the right individual. To qualify, candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related business discipline and must have:

* A GPA of 3.0 or above
* Approximately 0-2 years of related work experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong analytical, teamwork, and organizational skills
* Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and enthusiasm in the performance of responsibilities
* Ability and willingness to travel, as necessary
