Job Description

Ericsson's Mediaroom continues to build upon its industry-leading IPTV position and market share of more than 20 percent to enhance Ericsson's innovative, integrated, and robust TV and video solution for TV service providers. Ericsson invests in consumer research and is working with the most advanced TV service providers to anticipate the future and deliver innovations that help realize the greatest advantage, and most amazing consumer experience in a highly dynamic environment that demands true agility in any solution and services offering.

The Mediaroom team is looking for Computer Science college students to help build the next generation of television and entertainment experiences.

Our project is using cutting edge technologies like Nodejs, MongoDB, and Hadoop. We are working with Azure, AWS and OpenStack Cloud Platforms. We are looking to build out technologies such as real-time analysis of video delivery networks, a recommendation engine for web browsers based on video and live-tv watching, a large scale cloud management system that spans multiple cloud providers, playback engines for any device that can fit in the palm of your hand or be mounted on a wall.

If you are a Software Engineer who is passionate about quality and the entertainment space and want to build the next wave of experiences for our Cloud Video/TV Vertical Platform, then this is the group for you. Get in on the ground floor of this ambitious project! We follow the Agile development methodologies in order to deliver results at web-speed. You will learn what it takes to do end to end testing via automation, enabling testability in a product and come up with new ways to measure quality using real data. We invest heavily into tool development and are always looking at new technologies to increase team agility and quality. If you are passionate about the entertainment space, excited about automation testing, and ready to see your handiwork pop up in the living rooms of millions of people then we want to talk to you.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of computer algorithms and data structures

Experience with at least one programming language - Java, JavaScript, Ruby On Rails, C++

Familiarity with Big Data

Familiarity with Cloud technologies

Passion for learning new technologies

Strong verbal and written communication skills
