Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Security Division Officers meet objectives set forth by Columbus Regional Airport Authority by providing and maintaining efficient, effective, and responsive security services to include:

 

  • Ensure public safety and deterrence from illegal or improper activities
  • Access control to the entry points of the restricted areas of the Air Operations Area (AOA), and the main entrance to the terminal
  • Pedestrian and vehicular traffic direction and enforcement on the front drives and loading dock areas of the terminal
  • Performing Airport directed, specific on-site security related duties such as patrolling, guarding, securing area, and monitoring
  • Compliance with inspection duties required by Transportation Security Administrative (TSA) Security Directives and other authorized agencies
  • Reporting suspicious activity and emergencies according to protocols
  • Concession inspections at multiple locations throughout terminal
  • Performing other miscellaneous duties and tasks as directed
  • Assist in managing and operating in accordance with applicable standards and regulations

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret formal documentation.
  • Ability to write required reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Be able to meet any Federal, State or Municipal requirements to work as a Security Guard as may be required.
  • Other qualifications specific to the local operation and/or contract requirements.
