JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Manage development of standards for use in design, construction, operation, maintenance, and planning of transmission line, substation and relaying facilities. Manage the exploration of new technologies and their application potential on the Entergy system, including the coordination of universities and technical consortia. Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Construction and Supply Chain to ensure material procurement and contracts for all capital projects occurs properly.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and facilitate group resources in the development of design, construction, operation, maintenance, and planning standards to provide for safe, reliable, technically sound transmission line, substation and relay facilities.

Provide leadership, direction and oversight for various building blocks within Transmission Design Basis including standards development, technology evaluations, university and technical consortium interactions, material and contract management, workgroup direction and strategic planning, and compliance.

Develop standards to help operational areas achieve lowest life cycle cost of installed equipment.

Lead the implementation of new technologies into project designs.

Respond to regulatory compliance issues; Provide technical engineering expertise in developing responses to regulatory requests from FERC, NERC, SERC and other regulatory bodies. Participate on industry forums, serving as Entergy's representative on national, industry committees.

Accountable for monitoring and controlling project costs, project schedules and required deliverables of project materials and contracts to meet project goals and critical milestones to accomplish required levels of customer satisfaction. Requires development of strong relationships with applicable vendors.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Minimum experience required of the position
Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry with experience in various engineering disciplines. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Extensive knowledge of transmission line, substation, and system protection design, construction, operations and maintenance practices; Mastery of applicable material specifications, procurement practices, and vendor relationships. Thorough understanding of planning, project management, operations and/or construction. Viewed as company expert and able to represent the company at industry committee, professional organizations. Frequently involved and selected to participate in development of industry standards. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multi-projects simultaneously. Capable of moving frequently between multiple tasks, while prioritizing conflicting priorities. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with superiors, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the Company. Sound analytical, problem solving and documentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills; team player. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), budgets, financial procedures, and property accounting.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Professional Engineer registration in at least 1 state in Entergy service area desired.
