JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This position will be responsible for the tracking and reporting of Enterprise project activities through coordination with Enterprise & Solution Architects, Project Managers, Service Delivery Managers, Operations teams, and external vendors. This role provides technical and business guidance, review and oversight of related work products, and serves as an escalation point to ensure the project managers and external vendor teams deliver infrastructure projects on time, on budget, with first time quality, and with adherence to stated business requirements. The Program Manager maintains an active level of awareness on project status, budget, risks, and issues for all projects under his/her responsibility.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure effective project management of the full project life cycle.
  • Maintain ownership of assigned projects / programs on a day-to-day basis.
  • Enable management insight into project progress and provides a single picture in accordance with agreed reporting practices of the status and performance of all assigned programs and projects.
  • Maintain awareness and oversight of project activities to ensure a timely resolution of project execution issues, including changes in scope, quality/reliability issues, and resource constraints. Responsible for project sponsor satisfaction with project delivery and functionality. Manage portfolio and project risks including risks that are greater magnitude and often outside control of the program
  • Maintain awareness and oversight of projects to ensure compliance with Entergy’s IT PMO policies and procedures and where applicable, additional alignment with Capital Project Management & Technology Project Delivery processes
  • Coordinates interdependence of projects
  • Manages the expectations of multiple stakeholders, communicates progress, and decision makers
  • Liaise and collaborate with other Project Managers to ensure that the activities, issues and risks are tracked and escalated.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree required.  Advanced degree preferred.

 

Minimum experience required of the position
5+ years of leading projects, preferably infrastructure projects within the energy industry

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
IT Program and Project management experience. Working knowledge of multiple application & infrastructure platforms, development methodologies. Experience in project delivery in highly outsourced environments.

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization. Ability to lead using informal authority to drive organizational objectives (internal and external resources). Strong analytical and financial management skills.

Supervisory experience preferred.


Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
