JOB SUMMARY

Plans, monitors and manages complex projects from initiation through completion. Secures the required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. Manages projects to on time completion according to specifications and within current budget costs. This positon will primarily be focused on the management of studies and project portfolios focused on projects and initiatives within Grid Modernization. 

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, monitors and manages projects from initiation through completion.
  • Directs governance structure for Operating Company team members
  • Participate in best practice and future business state workshops
  • Coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply, and supply and contract management, progress reporting, trouble shooting and people management.
  • Follows up on project results and ensures contractor deliverables meet quality and schedule. Notifies relevant parties of expected discrepancies.
  • Monitors project performance and suggests schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions.
  • Make formal presentations and provide updates up, down, and across the organization.
  • Showcase project milestones at Roadshows across the operating companies.
  • Implements program controls and reporting mechanisms.
  • Interface regularly with team members and other project teams to ensure project success. 
  • Ensures change management processes are followed.
  • Communicates project progress, issues and key decisions

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution in related field or relevant experience (e.g. engineering, business management, business administration, construction management)
  • MBA desired.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSTION

  • 3 years’ experience in successfully managing and implementing utility or engineering investments.
  • Experience with contracts and managing contractors preferred

 

MINIMUM CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, .ETC REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

  • Degree in engineering preferred
  • PMP certification desired

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THE POITION

  • Working understanding of project management tools and principles required. Specific knowledge of Entergy's Capital Project Standard preferred.
  • Working understanding of change, configuration and risk management
  • Working understanding of Entergy’s accounting, finance and corporate risk processes and requirements
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills including the ability to clearly communicate and express self well in groups and one on one conversations.
  • Understanding of Change, Configuration, and Risk Management principles and the ability to apply those principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge and the ability to produce reports from Entergy’s cost accounting system desirable.
  • Knowledge and ability to produce reports and communications appropriate for any target audience
  • Knowledge of Entergy’s (or comparable utility) distribution system, transmission system and gas system including new and emerging technologies desirable
