Job Description

Project Coordinator

PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS TO COVER FOR A MATERNITY LEAVE. START DATE; OCT. 30, 2017; NO EARLIER.

Description:

  • Manages simple individual projects including a sub-project within a program

  • Supports the development of efficient, cost-effective solutions

  • Contributes to the accuracy of components in the business case.

  • With support, negotiates agreement on project schedule and budgets.

  • Understands and applies appropriate methods or recognized equivalents in completing assignments

  • Supports the primary interface between the customer and the project team for a given project(s) in the management of the successful delivery of a solution

  • Applies approved project management methods and business methods to projects

  • Contributes to the business plan

  • Develops the project plan

  • Accountable for the success criteria, development, publication and updating of project deliverables

  • With support, develops and executes user adoption, communication, implementation and training plans

  • Manages the tracking of interdependencies (start to finish relationships) within the project.

  • Identifies needed resources.

  • Establishes the project environment

  • Assists in the coordination of collection and validation of business requirements and their success criteria with business partners

  • Identifies project metrics

  • Delivers a project based on its function, eg, development, infrastructure etc.

  • Uses appropriate life cycle to develop solutions.

  • Works on assignments of moderate scope.

  • Works within accepted guidelines.

  • Requires moderate planning and scheduling

  • With guidance oversees transition to operational production status

  • Manages project close-out activities

  • May conduct post-implementation review

  • Recognizes and communicates project and team successes

  • Total project budget typically up to $1 Million

  • Project size typically 1 site and/or 1 region and/or 1 process

  • Manages the work of the project team

  • Works with project team to review progress against team and project objectives

  • Allocates resources, establishes schedules, and makes task assignments

  • Demonstrates use of change management process -resources, schedule, scope for assigned project (size and complexity - see above) - renegotiates deadlines with sponsors

  • Tracks and reports on project and deliverable status and may manage variances Executes the project plan

  • May develop and manage issue escalation and the resolution process.

  • Typically involves interpreting and carrying out general guidelines.

  • Requires some judgment to develop alternatives.

  • Provides information to others to be used in the decision-making process.

  • May contribute content for presentations

  • Orients new team members or sponsors

  • Responsible for documenting and organizing project deliverables, scope and content, including all decisions.

  • Sets standards and processes for project libraries


Requirements:

  • Two ( 2 ) + years exposure to Project Management

  • Understands all project life cycle phases and applies knowledge in the delivery of at least one phase of the project delivery life cycle

  • Understands use of change management process - resources, schedule, scope - for assigned project (size and complexity - see above)

  • 4-year degree in related field/BA or BS

  • PMP (Project Management Certificate)
