PRIMARY FOCUS

The primary focus of this position will participate in the development and execution of the new ventures (gas) strategy.  This includes contributing to strategy development, identifying and analyzing project and business opportunities, and performing/coordinating commercial activities to originate, develop, optimize, negotiate, and manage complex gas, G&P and NGL infrastructure opportunities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of business fundamentals and in-depth contemporary knowledge of market activities across various US regions and gas-related industry sectors to identify organic development or asset acquisition opportunities.  Develop and maintain positive business relationships with customers and other industry counterparts.
  • Manage and coordinate commercial aspects of expansion projects from project inception to in-service including; opportunity identification, customer interface, service and asset conceptualization, feasibility assessment, project marketing, open season development, agreement negotiation, internal project and funding approvals, and regulatory filings. 
  • Coordinate business development activities with internal and external professionals providing capacity management, marketing, contract administration, economics, estimating, facility planning, gas control, government/community relations, operations, producer and marketer services, tax, technical, regulatory and legal expertise. Lead cross-functional teams as required, in fulfillment of project and company objectives.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and manage the internal and external implementation of the agreements and projects. Independently identify and develop solutions for complex business issues.  Provide commercial review and insight throughout project lifecycle to ensure project execution, revenue capture and/or reimbursement payment expectations are met.
  • Provide evaluation and input on data review and economic modeling in support of Enbridge’s grass roots and asset acquisition opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other Enbridge business units to support identification and pursuit of cross-company business opportunities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Engineering.
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in the natural gas or energy industry in marketing, accounting, financial, commercial operations or related areas.
  • Experience in project development or similar industrial environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial operations, sales or marketing experience preferred.
  • Strong achievement orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills.
  • Salary and job level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
