Job Description

Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager Reno and dotted-line to HR Director Isolation Valves (ISV) Americas, the incumbent will provide leadership and direction for all HR related issues at our Reno location. Our Reno location is the primary producer of our Clarkson Knife Gate product line which remains a key part of the ISV portfolio. We are searching for a hands-on HR Manager that will advocate for our 'support our people' value while achieving business results. Key stakeholders at our Reno site include the Plant Manager/site leader as well as the Global Strategic Business (SBU) Director of Knife Gate Valves who leads the global product management team for Knife Gate Valves.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partner Support:

* Effectively partner with Plant Manager and Knife Gate Valve Global SBU Director on HR related topics


* Implement business specific HR actions that supports the building of required capabilities and the development across the organization


* Quickly understand business situations and tie-ins to HR



HR Processes:

* Effectively manage key HR processes including: annual wage & salary review, employee survey processes, performance management annual cycle, and organizational planning review


* Ensure all roles in Reno filled in a timely manner


* Lead the orientation and assimilation of all new hires


* Provide leadership in the attainment of EEO goals and affirmative action programs.



Training/Development:

* Support facilitation of onsite training courses as required


* Partner with site leaders to establish and follow-up on development plans for key employees


* Actively search out internal training opportunities for key managers, supervisors, and leads


* Support and engage in roll-out of new programs



Employee Relations:

* Be an active and available resource for all team members, Address all employee relations topics in a professional and timely manner.


* Work in consultation with Director of Human Resources and legal necessary to resolve issues.


* Action all items from employee survey results


* Promote our open-door policy and always promote a positive workplace


* Sponsor employee social committee/events



Payroll and File Maintenance:

* Ensure timekeeping and payroll is in order at the site


* Maintain files


* Organize all paperwork and record keeping to ensure timely and accurate compliance with corporate and governmental requirements



Qualifications:

* BS degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field.


* 7 years generalist experience with deep expertise in multiple HR functions: Compensation, benefits, staffing, etc.


* Prior experience leading an HR function in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred


* Ability to effectively interact employees from a variety of backgrounds/disciplines from shop floor to senior management.


* Strong background in employee relations and HR employment law


* Experience in facilitating/training preferred


* Strong organizational, communication and listening skills


* Understand operational processes systems


* Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, presentation and influence skills required.


* Strong customer service focus with a high level of responsiveness.
