Job Description


We are looking for a software engineer who can provide technicalexpertise and guidance on the software development of various Temperaturefeatures and functionality. This rollwill be responsible for applying unique concepts and technology, developing newsoftware features for Emerson's Temperature products, and coordinating thequalification of the software design. This position will guide design decisions and product requirements asthis person actively participates and collaborates with other design teammembers.


* Implementing design features in collaboration with other designteam members
* Defining software requirements so products meet customer needs andexpectations
* Ensuring high product performance through the embedded firmwaredesign and testing
* Applying new technology and concepts to product designs
* Defining the customer experience through user interface development


Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering is required. An degree from an ABET-accredited school is preferred.

Experience: 0 years of related experience required.

Preferred Software Skills:

* Embedded real-time C/C programming experience
* Object-oriented software design experience using UML
* Experience developing with an IAR compiler
* Experience developing application code to run in a RTOS environment
* Experience utilizing various microprocessor peripherals, including DMA, A/D, D/A, Timers, etc.
* Experience with interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, etc.
* Experience with version control software like IBM Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest
* Experience with HART, Fieldbus, Profibus,etc… and other industrial protocols
