Job Description

Primary Objective of Position:

Under close supervision and at a beginning level of engineering work, performs basic and routine assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out a sequence of related engineering tasks and activities.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

* Develop embedded software for flow meter electronics.
* Investigate issues reported from customers to resolve in a timely manner.
* Develop specialized software to meet unique customer requirements not covered with standard products.
* Document high and low level designs.
* Clarify software requirements for product definitions and write Software Requirements Specifications.
* Utilize requirements management tool to trace requirements back to marketing level requirements.
* Use configuration management tool (PVCS) to version control source code and documentation.
* Comply with software coding standards.
* Development primarily in C, C with some assembly.
* Participate in software project team efforts including planning, scheduling and technical execution


Must have strong technical background in appropriate engineering field, and the interest and ability to pursue engineering and development projects.

* Solid upfront design skills coupled with a process mindset for quality (design reviews, coding standards, etc.).

* Familiarity with modern software development methods and tools extremely helpful (Object-Oriented Design, UML, debuggers, emulators, oscilloscopes, etc.).

* Solid written and spoken communication skill

* Proven track record participating on completed software projects


Entry level position some embedded software development experience preferred.


Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required.
