Description

The Product Manager, Electrical Equipment will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of mechanical, electrical and PLC engineers and designers, project managers, sales, application engineers and new product development on our Engineered to Order and Configure to Order businesses. The Product Manager will report to our Director, Engineering and Project Management Office. The Product Manager will have a variety of responsibilities, including working with sales and applications on electrical solutions for customers; analyzing customer needs and positioning Vilter for future opportunities; working with internal team, vendors and contractors on electrical design of equipment and systems; executing on and managing won solutions and helping with in process orders. Customers facing and success is critical to our success.

Success in this position requires the candidate to work effectively in both a collaborative and independent environment, must be safety conscious, good communication skills is a must both internally and externally with customers, high attention to detail is critical and have a strong motivation for delivering project objectives.

Responsibilities

* Support technically and commercially Vilter's motor starter/VFD platform
* Support technically and commercially Vilter's PLC controls platform, programming is not required
* Support team on electrical system product improvements and standards
* Project manage customer electrical equipment projects
* Serve are subject matter expert and work directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and provide product training
* Customer facing experience is valuable
* Supporting customers, sales, application engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers

* Travel: 10%

Requirements

Basic

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
* Minimum of 6 years' experience in power and control systems
* Firm understanding of electrical controls, PLC programming experience is not necessary but valuable
* Firm understanding of power circuits, motors, motor starters and VFDs - up to 4160VAC
* Field experience with electrical troubleshooting skills is valuable
* Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN engineering tools is valuable
* Must have a firm understanding of NFPA 70 National Electric Code and UL 508A, staying up to date on industry standards and trends
* Must have a firm understanding of how to read and interpret electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation drawings
* Must be a self-starter, work autonomously, lead a team whether it's internal or external contractors and vendors

Preferred

* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is highly desirable
* Project management experience is desirable
