Job Description


Product engineer supporting new product development and product sustaining tasks. Takes technical lead for development and approval of new products. Specifies test setups and procedures for products as required. Resolves technical issues during development and from customers, technical support and manufacturing after product is released.


* Applies engineering skills and experience to all phases of product development.
* Provides product engineering support during development of new products.
* Provides technical support to all Liebert functions - Liebert Service, Sales, Customers and Production.
* Specifies test setups and procedures for products as required.
* Reviews tests results and documents verification and qualification of new products.
* Provides technical input for all product documentation such as user manual, submittal drawings and sales literature.
* Provides leadership and direction to lab technicians and junior engineers working on the development of the product.
* Ability to troubleshoot medium to large multi-module systems.
* Analyzes component failures to determine root cause and corrective action.
* May assume engineering responsibility for completing project milestones on time and within budget.


* Provides daily support to engineering work group.
* Provides assistance to ensure tests are performed safely and correctly.
* Provides assistance to ensure test fixtures are built safely and to specification.
* Participates in product conception, design reviews and qualification of the product.
* Communicates test results and requirements to development team.
* Take direction from multiple sources to accomplish tasks.
* Release documentation and bills of material into a PDM system. Experience using Agile PDM is preferred.
* Supports product as it goes through CAS and UL testing.



* Broad experience in working with power conversion, control circuits, firmware implementation, specification development, manufacturing techniques, communication protocols, cost anlaysis and design verification.
* Solid functional knowledge of test and data acquisition equipment.
* Solid background working in a lab environment.
* Prior experience with UPS or related power products would be helpful.
* Capable of utilizing a personal computer and various applications programs, i.e. spreadsheets, CAD, word processing, communications, etc.
* Able to troubleshoot defective products and test equipment.
* Team player and able to work on multiple projects.
* Strong oral and written communication skills required.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work as a member of a cross-functional engineering team.
* Strong interpersonal skills, a team orientation, consistent work habits, and a can-do attitude.


* Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
* At least 3 years related engineering job experience.
