Job Description

A Technical Technical Project Manager is required with excellent Technical and customer facing skills of delivering infrastructure projects, based in West Coast preferably California. Responsible for successful delivery, stakeholder management and Team Management.

The role is a 6-month assignment with a high chance of being renewed or extended.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering IT Infrastructure Projects
  • To own a delivery project(s) reporting to the Programme Manager
  • Responsible for delivery of complex IT problems and projects, including delivery of contract scope and intent
  • Defining and planning specific project scope and activities to ensure that they are delivered to time and budget.
  • Ensure project risks are identified and mitigated effectively.
  • Ensuring that the required contractual performance is achieved
  • Ensure an appropriate governance structure is in place to manage the delivery for the project
  • Responsible for structuring and leading a team to define project scope and requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of a resourced based plan to drive the critical path
  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Responsible for client interface to assure confidence in project delivery.
  • Responsible for ensuring that resource requirements are identified at an early stage.
  • Maintain appropriate financial management of the project costs and actively seek to reduce and optimise
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Attend contractual/client facing meetings, where necessary
  • Maintaining a commercial audit trail of deliverables, decisions and amendments
  • Provide reports and KPI information to demonstrate deliverables are on target
  • Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Works collaboratively with all Business areas, forming virtual teams where required to realise goals and objectives.
  • Actively promote Hunter Macdonald brand with the customer
  • Ensure that all staff are fully trained and competent to undertake their roles on key projects
  • Establish an effective communication structure to inform the team and receive feedback
  • Work to maintain a motivated team and actively ensure retention of team members
  • Provide leadership to team to ensure that they are motivated and committed to delivering a successful project.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered, always.
  • Provide leadership and ensure engagement of the delivery teams, recognising that not all resources will be directly reporting to the programme structure (ie Matrix management).
