Job Description

Lead Test Engineer sought by Eaton Corporation in Moon Township, PA

Job duties:

• Supports safety, development, and operation of Manufacturing Process Control and Test Equipment.

• Provides technical support and advice to engineering groups. Provides technical information for plant operations and test engineering personnel on the set-up and performance of tests.

• Acts as liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items.

• Devises and applies testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors. Participates in the development, maintenance and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.

• Provides BOC input and development opportunities for key process control and test positions within the operations.

• Supports industrialization and continuous improvement activities by strengthening execution around control plans, EQS, and ELLS tools.

• Assists in test engineering and technician training including safety, proper operations of equipment and processes to ensure a zero incident culture and product conformance to quality standards.

• Supports maintenance of manuals and other training materials.

• Provides technical information and support in the development of control plans along with test and process specification creation and approval. Provides technical information to teams to help create FEMAs, control plans, and test specifications.

• Assists with the construction, execution, and analysis of DOEs (design of experiment) CONC reduction, Continuous Improvement, DFSS and MSAs. Consults with Sector and other group and divisional teams to improve safety, technology, standards and create strategic program goals.

• Consults with product development teams to provide productivity, quality and test guidance.

• Provides technical information and support to internal and external equipment suppliers including safety and other standards such as IT, TDM, etc.

• Provides technical information used for the creation and deployment of TDM systems for process control or testing.

These types of systems provide error proofing, product identification, and manual or automated data capture. Domestic and international travel required 10-25% of the time to support test system implementation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience. To be relevant, experience must include 5 years of experience with: Industrial controls and electrical test systems; LabVIEW software experience; Participate in capital projects related to test equipment implementation; High current & high voltage test systems and troubleshooting; and Reviewing/ creating electrical schematics. Applicant must also have experience with designing, building and troubleshooting production test equipment.
