Job Description

Eaton's Power Distribution & Controls Assemblies division is currently seeking a Customer Order Engineer (MVCA product line) to join our team. This position is based at our Arden, NC facility.

The Customer Order Engineer is responsible for accurately interpreting purchaser specifications and translating them into drawings and bills-of-material understandable by Manufacturing and Purchasing.

* You will develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser's equipment application. Consults with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
* You will advise C.O.D., Manufacturing and Purchasing - when required - in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser's requirements.
* You will consult with the Quality Department in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required. Coordinates mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products. Directs purchaser visits to approve or release equipment.
* You will conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature. Informs in cost and cycle time improvement activities.
* You will conduct technical training seminars, as required. Plans travel as required to support any of the above.
* You will provide technical training and guidance to department personnel. Analyzes needs and recommends revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Engineering program from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date no later than December 2018
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or Mechatronics from an accredited institution.
* Manufacturing experience including internships and co-op assignments

Position Success Criteria :

* Knowledge of power distribution and control systems (LV and MV Switchgear, Panel boards and Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, etc.)
* Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical engineering
* Knowledge of design standards.
* Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), AutoCAD, databases
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
